Maureen Newberg

Jesus asks us to bear one another’s burdens and Maureen feels honored to serve in that way.

Maureen has been counseling people with a wide range of issues for over 30 years. Her focus includes helping people resolve childhood pain, treating depression, life transitions, anxiety, trauma, marital and relational issues, and PTSD. Maureen enjoys working with adults, couples, and teens. She also has over 20 years of experience helping individuals with sex addiction and is working towards gaining a certification in betrayal trauma.  Maureen strongly believes that truth is the basis for healing and gives her clients direct and honest feedback. She believes that psychotherapy should produce measurable results and sets goals with her clients that are periodically reviewed to ensure progress toward healing. She is married and the proud mom of 3 adult children, one of whom has Down syndrome.

Maureen graduated from the University of Maryland with a master’s degree in social work with an focus on mental health.  She is licensed as a clinical social worker in Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia, with additional certification as a Sex Addiction Therapist from the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction.
